i went to the fair last night with ed and adam. it was fun. please to be directed to ed's blog page for a full and accurate review of the evening (with pictures even).
it really is. cheesy lines and bad acting aside, i love it. i enjoy surfers, the beach, and the idea (whether false or not) of the laid back california lifestyle. while growing up i spent all of my summers with my dad, and for the longest time he lived on the coast. so this meant a majority of my time was spent at the beach. he was in his mid 20's, living with his cousin and a couple of good friends, hanging out, picking up girls, drinking and having fun. and i saw the relationship of swayze and his surfing buddies similar to my dad and his friends. plus i'm attracted to lori petty (the petite frame? the short hair? the sass? i don't know, but i like her). i'll think about it some, and if i come up with more i'll add another comment.
I am going to rent it. Right now. I will comment once I have watched it. Although, I won't poo-poo your justification, we can't help the movies that conjure up memories and sentiment...I mean, Little Women is one of my favourite movies for that reason. I bawl like a baby ever time. And Patrick Swayze would look great in a unitard. I also encourage the crush on a short-haired sassy lady... =) But that is for selfish reasons.
I will report back once Point Break has been watched.
